Introduction

This was a fun trip. I planned it so I could visit Kutná Hora, where one of my board games is set. There is a silver mine there, and it features in the game.

For a long time, I have had Magnum Sal, a game set in the Wieliczka Salt Mine. Later, I got Coal Baron, set in the Essen Coal Mine Complex. Coincidentally, I had previously been in both mines, so I wanted a third game to complete a trilogy. I bought Kutná Hora based on reviews, and it was a bonus that it was set in a silver-mining town. Some research revealed it has a silver mining museum and you can tour part of the old mine. So that became a must-visit destination.

Given Kutná Hora, the rest of the trip was based on the map: Prague for an entry airport, then Kutná Hora, then to Wien to visit a relative, then Bratislava for a new country, then Ljubljana for the same reason. Then Villach because it was a transfer point, giving me an extra city for no additional travel time, then Ulm to revisit where I lived, and then München for the exit airport.
