Off to a good start, there was chocolate on the plane and a chocolate store at
Prague airport. A good trip has chocolate support all along the way. It was not
actually a good chocolate store, but at least there is a lifeline.
Finding the Airport Express (bus into town) was a bit of a walk. Still on
airport grounds, I suppose, but you had to go out and across a parking lot and
turn and walk another few hundred meters. My hotel was across a small park from
the main train station and in walking distance from Prague’s old town. Old town
Prague is thronging with tourists, but they seem to be handling it well.
Since I have visited Prague before, the purpose of staying overnight was to
provide slack between getting off the plane and catching a train. I was only in
town about 24 hours, but that is plenty when you have already visited the
castles and museums and such and can just wander around town freely. My first
stop was Janek Chocolate,
although, due to the temperature, I had to forego a purchase at first and stop
in again later when I was going back to the hotel.
